VH-1's "Behind The Music":

To Share Stories of Silent Heroes

Behind The Music LogoKevin Hearn of the Barenaked Ladies will share his experience surviving leukemia and the story of his sibling donating marrow to help save his life in the October 8 VH-1 "Behind The Music." Volunteer donors who donated stem cells to help save the lives of complete strangers will also take VH-1 viewers on a journey through their experiences in the program.

The program will also educate viewers about the need for unrelated marrow and blood stem cell donors. Viewers are encouraged to consider joining the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). Portions of the NMDP's recruitment and educational video "The Missing Piece" will be included in the story.

In addition, an information booth will be set up at the Barenaked Ladies concert in St. Paul, Minn., this Saturday, September 30. NMDP volunteers will be on hand to help answer questions about marrow and blood stem cell donations. The information booth will be located at the lobby of the new Xcel Energy Center. The booth hours are 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30.
