2001 EditionMedical Professionals' Guide to Unrelated Stem Cell TransplantationThe National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) has published the third edition of the A Medical Professionals' Guide to Unrelated Donor Stem Cell Transplantation. It is easier to use and provides medical professionals with everything they need to know to run a preliminary search of the NMDP's Registry of potential marrow and blood stem cell donors or umbilical cord blood units.
"The unrelated donor search process can be prolonged, so it is critical for medical professionals to understand it and to initiate a search of the NMDP's Registry early in the course of disease," says Dr. Dennis Confer, chief medical officer for the NMDP. Preliminary searches of the NMDP's Registry are provided at no cost to licensed physicians for their patients.
