Bone Marrow and Blood Stem Cell Transplants: A Guide for Patients

Bone Marrow and Blood Stem Cell Transplants: A Guide for PatientsBone Marrow and Blood Stem Cell Transplants: A Guide for Patients is a handbook for patients undergoing an allogeneic transplant (a transplant using donated marrow or blood stem cells). The book explains medical information in an easy-to-read style, includes the experiences of transplant survivors and caregivers, and covers a broad range of issues facing transplant patients and their families. Written by Susan K. Stewart, founder of Blood & Marrow Transplant Information Network (BMT InfoNet), the new guide is an updated version of Stewart's 1992 book, Bone Marrow Transplants: A Book of Basics for Patients, which many transplant patients consider the essential guide to the transplant process.

This book was produced as part of a partnership between the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) and BMT InfoNet to provide resources to patients. NMDP staff reviewed some of the book's content and BMT InfoNet published the book with the help of funding from the NMDP and its partner, The Marrow Foundation.®
