Frequent Flyer Miles Donations Needed for NMDP Patient Program
Since late 1997, NMDP has used AirCares to help over 50 patient families. This program serves as a tremendous relief to families already burdened by the costs of transplant. AirCares recipients are chosen based on financial need. Patients Need Your HelpThe bank of NMDP AirCares miles is empty. Currently, there are not enough miles left for new patient requests. You can help by donating your miles to NMDP patients through NWA's AirCares program.
You can access your WorldPerks account to check your mileage balance on the NWA Web site at https://webx25.nwa.com/cgi-bin/wp_acctsum.pro. How to Donate MilesTo donate, WorldPerks members may call toll-free in the United States (800) 327-2881. (Outside the United States, contact your local Northwest Airlines office.) You will need to specify National Marrow Donor Program as the recipient of the miles. Your travels on Northwest Airlines (NWA) could make a difference in the life of a transplant patient. NWA facilitates AirCares - a charitable support program through which you can donate NWA WorldPerks miles to the National Marrow Donor Program. These frequent flier miles are used to fly unrelated donor stem cell transplant recipients and caregivers to their transplant center -- free of charge.
