Launch of Clinical Trial to Improve Transplant Outcomes

Cerus Corporation and the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) announced the initiation of a clinical trial for the Cerus allogeneic cellular immune therapy (ACIT). The ACIT is being developed to improve stem cell transplant outcomes in patients with hematologic malignancies including leukemia and lymphoma by testing a new stem cell therapy technology known as Helinx®.

Dr. Dennis L. Confer, NMDP chief medical officer, commented in the Cerus news release: "We are pleased to collaborate with Cerus on this promising approach to improve stem cell transplants. We continuously strive to improve therapeutic outcomes for our patients."
