Grants Available For Innovative Approaches to Donor Recruitment and Retention

The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) #C05-0024 titled Grants for Innovative Approaches to Donor Recruitment and Retention.

The NMDP is soliciting individuals and organizations to develop and/or pilot programs that will provide:

• Innovative approaches to donor recruitment of diverse audiences,
• Retention of donors already on the NMDP donor Registry, or
• Improvement in donor availability for patients.

The proposed approaches should expand the capabilities of NMDP and its Network members to provide optimally matched adult donors when needed.

Requirements

• All applicants that are not an NMDP network donor center or recruitment group must partner with a NMDP network donor center or recruitment group for this project. A letter of collaboration from the NMDP network donor center or recruitment group is required and must accompany your proposal.
• Proposals must address innovative, creative and unique ways to increase recruitment and retention.
• Proposals must describe the measurable method in which your organization would achieve the proposed objective.
• Proposals incorporating additional FTE's will be considered.
• Awards will be made up to a maximum amount of $40,000 for a one year time period.
• Proposals involving the creation and distribution of marketing materials must adhere to NMDP Logo Standards (Attachment F). Any and all marketing materials developed under this grant are subject to review and approval by the NMDP Marketing and Communications Department prior to release. Any proposed exception will be subject to separate review by the NMDP Marketing and Communications Department.
• One to six applicants will be awarded funding. Awards will be announced in February 2006.
