Child's Guide to Transplant - DVD and workbook

Discovery to Recovery workbook and DVD image The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Office of Patient Advocacy offers a free DVD and workbook to help children facing a bone marrow or cord blood transplant (also called a BMT). Discovery to Recovery: A Child's Guide to Bone Marrow Transplant will help your family understand the transplant journey ahead. The central half-hour program walks your child through the transplant process. It uses puppets, animations and interviews to answer questions on hospital routine, treatments, transplant and recovery.

The DVD and booklet that comes with it are designed to help engage the whole family in discussions about transplant. There are special sections for kids, parents, siblings and the whole family. The information is geared primarily to children ages 5 - 9. However, the information can be helpful to children of all ages.

To order the free Discovery to Recovery DVD and workbook, use the online order form or contact the NMDP Office of Patient Advocacy by phone or e-mail.
