H. Joachim Deeg, M.D. will examine the emerging data and provide insight into current treatment strategies, including transplantation: Which risk factors are critical to assess when choosing a therapy? Are there sub-groups for whom there is a standard first-line treatment? How do emerging therapies impact our decision-making for transplantation? How should treatment decisions be affected by age of the patient and quality-of-life issues?GoalThe goal of this activity is to describe appropriate therapeutic strategies for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).Learning Objectives
