Program Description
This program will describe the latest in the management of high-risk pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Dr. Boulad from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center will discuss therapeutic strategies employed for the treatment of high-risk ALL patients:- at the time of diagnosis in order to identify patients at very high-risk for relapse
- with refractory disease
- in relapse

Learning Objectives
- Identify patients at high risk for disease progression at diagnosis, and beyond
- List treatment options and outcomes based on prognostic factors
- Determine the appropriate timing and use of transplantation and list factors affecting outcome for this therapy
- Summarize advances in the management of relapsed/refractory patients, including new agents.
- Review findings from recent ASBMT evidence-based review on pediatric ALL1
Goal
The goal of this program is to improve diagnosis and treatment of pediatric patients with ALL through education on new therapeutic advances including the role and timing of hematopoietic cell transplantation.Target Audience
This activity is intended for hematologists, oncologists and other health care professionals who are involved in the treatment of patients with pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia.Accreditation and Certification
